Article I Membership
Section 1: Qualifications for membership
1. All members shall be enrolled at least part-time at the University of Wisconsin – Stout.
2. All members must maintain at least a 2.0 GPA.
3. All members must keep up a membership with USA Water Ski, and the Wisconsin Water Ski Federation.
Section 2: Membership Dues
1. The executive board shall set membership dues on an annual basis.
2. Membership dues shall be paid in full before participation in the organization will be allowed.
Section 3: Definition of Voting Membership
1. Membership dues to the team, WWSF, and USA-Waterski have been paid.
2. The voting Membership shall include the executive board that meet the above criteria.
3. A simple majority must be present in order to conduct business.
Article II Officers (Executive Board)
Section 1: The following officers will make up the organization’s executive board and be responsible for carrying out the specified duties.
A. President
1. The president shall be responsible for running meetings in an orderly fashion.
2. The president shall be responsible for taking any necessary disciplinary action.
3. The president shall be responsible for keeping in touch with the SSA.
4. The president shall oversee the responsibilities of the team and the executive board.
5. The President along with the vice president and treasurer shall authorize the expenditure of the team’s money, with and expenditure limit of five hundred dollars.
B. Vice President
1. The vice president shall assist the president in his duties.
2. The vice president shall take over the Presidency in case of resignation of absence of president.
3. The vice president along with the president and treasurer shall authorize the expenditure of the team’s money.
C. Secretary
1. The secretary is responsible for taking notes during the meetings and posting the minutes at the next meeting.
2. The secretary is responsible for keeping current the membership list and the sponsorship lists and information.
3. Reserve meeting rooms for all meetings.
D. Treasurer
1. Responsible for collecting dues and keeping accurate records of paid dues.
2. Shall be prepared to give a financial report at all meetings.
3. Maintain a bank account under the University of Wisconsin – Stout Water Ski Team.
4. Assist the Executive board in developing a budget.
E. Safety Director
1.The Safety Director shall write the policies on safety issues.
2. The Safety Director shall authorize reliable persons to drive the boat at team practices or events, and keep a list of those people.
3. The Safety Director shall cancel or stop any team activity in which an unsafe condition of action exists.
F. Maintenance Director
1. The maintenance director shall be responsible for coordinating all maintenance and storage of ski equipment.
2. The maintenance director shall be responsible for insuring that all equipment that is being used is in a safe condition.
G. Fundraising/Promotion Director
1. The Fundraising/promotions director shall coordinate and oversee all fundraising projects and promotional projects.
Section 2: Advisor
1. The advisor to the University of Wisconsin – Stout Waterski Team shall be chosen by the Executive board. The purpose of the advisors position is to offer advice to the organization.
Article III Election Election of Officers
1. Elections are to be held at the annual election meeting at the end of the fall skiing season. November 1st is the deadline for this meeting.
2. All members can vote at the annual election.
3. You must be a paid member of the team for one semester to be eligible for an elected position.
4. All members can vote at the annual election.
5. Votes shall be placed by secret ballot and read by the advisor.
6. Offices are to be held for a maximum of two years.
Article IV Amendments
Section 1: Amendments
Amendments to the by-laws Amendments to the by-laws will be done in the same manner in which the constitution will be amended. (see Constitution)
